The College of Public Affairs (CPAf) is one of the colleges in University of the Philippines, Los Baños. It offers graduate instruction, research and extension programs that center on the study of communities in transition and their institution such as resource access, governance, policy and education, inter alia, and the intrinsic interplay among the institutions. It can be found at the forestry area or the upper campus of the university. That is approximately a hundred meters from the entrance to the UPLB College of Forestry and Natural Resources.

History

The College of Public Affairs, established in 1998, emerged from various units of the University with lengthy and extensive experience in agricultural and rural development.[1] The College offers graduate instruction, research and extension programs that center on the study of communities in transition and their institution such as resource access, governance, policy and education, inter alia, and the intrinsic interplay among the institutions.

CPAf is actively engaged in policy advocacy emanating from multidisciplinary cooperation that will serve as its link with the various stakeholders in the academe and the public at large. CPAf represents the embodiment of strength available in UPLB for meaningful pursuit of programs that cater to public affairs endeavors, i.e., programs and activities concerned with the furtherance of public interest, particularly in the rural and agricultural sector. This strength emanates from the academic, professional and support staff of merged socio-economic units with extensive experience in pursuits that are directly linked to the development concerns of UPLB's multiple publics.[2]
